Personal History

• Biography

  Joseph is a Breton born in the later years of the First Era, an ancient sorcerer kept alive by powerful magics taught to him by his mentor Sotha Sil during his time training the Psijic Order. Leaving High Rock for the Summerset isle of Artaeum, years before it would disappear entirely for 500 years. He was one of the earliest members of the Psijic Order under the leadership of the Ringmaster Iachesis. He left his home to escape the slowly spreading religious philosophies of the Altmer. As well as an inborn desire to create, to become something much more than he was. His passion for the Old Ways, and the ancient magics of this world drove him to seek out the Order.
  
  For centuries he has carried out the will of the Psijic Order, seeking to guide the world and do their best to protect it from ancient magics and artifacts. Everyone however has their own secrets, and Joseph was no stranger to this idea. During his time with the Psijic Order he developed in secret a new form of magic he called Binding. A highly advanced form of Conjuration and Necromancy, this Binding would summon the soul of a deceased individual, and Bind them to the caster merging the souls of the caster with the soul of those summoned. A very dangerous form of magic as the caster must have a powerful will over these beings, lest he be consumed by their will and his body lost to them entirely. As well he finds himself at ends with the wills of deadric princes that claim ownership of many of the souls he desires to Bind. This fact alone tells tales of his will, and power as a sorcerer. Using this magic he became a greatly accomplished mage, as he could not only cast powerful magics with his own abilities, but he could also call upon the fighting skills of ancient kings and forgotten beings.

• Relationship with Azura

  He and Azura have a complicated relationship, as his mentor Sotha Sil has angered the goddess over the centuries. However she and Joseph share a strangely close bond, as he acknowledges her wisdom and power. At the very same time, she acknowledges his as well. Over the centuries he has not turned his back on her like his mentor had before he was killed by Almalexia of the Tribunal. Joseph had often visited her shrines, startling her other worshipers with his casual method of speaking to their god. Let alone when she answers him in a kind and respectful manner as if he were a prince himself.
  
  He has traveled to her realm of Moonshadow throughout the years, having been given a way to travel to this realm to visit Azura in person. One of the very few that has ever seen her in person, he retains a strong friendship with the deadric prince.
